Two weekends ago, on Friday April 8th 2016, my sweet boyfriend and I had the lovely opportunity to attend the Grand Opening of the Merrimon-Wynne Carriage House at the Historic Merrimon-Wynne House in Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Merrimon-Wynne House is an absolutely stunning wedding and corporate event venue. The house was originally built in 1876 as a private residence for a North Carolina Supreme Court Justice.
I live a few minutes from the Merrimon-Wynne House and had driven by it before but never had time to visit, I am so glad I finally had the chance to see the house and accompanying Carriage House extension in person! Not only did we have a lovely evening but I’ve discovered a new venue that I’ll use personally in the future for events as well as a venue I can recommend to friends and family. Anytime you are planning an event the venue is usually the most expensive and stressful part, I’m so excited that I’ve discovered such a gorgeous venue just minutes from my house! As an added thought, since the venue is downtown if you’re having your wedding there it’s very accessible for guests who may be traveling from a long distance to attend your special day.
Jordan and I were absolutely blown away by the Merrimon-Wynne House itself and the Carriage House that they’ve recently built and added on to the property. The Carriage House is an extension of the Merrimon-Wynne House and it would be perfect to host an indoor wedding reception, formal dinner for a corporate event or any other event that you would need a classic and beautiful space for.
Below I’ve added some of my favorite photos from the event, thank you specifically to Kaila Anderson from the Merrimon-Wynne House and thank you to Renee Sprink from Renee Sprink Photography for the GORGEOUS images of the event featured below.
Some of my favorite parts of the event were the custom cocktails from Donovan’s Dish Catering and the Gelato and Martini Bar from Sugarland Desserts, I thought the idea of a gelato bar was so cute and fun and it was something I hadn’t thought of!
Thank you to the other vendors for making this event such a success!
