Now that fall is officially here and North Carolina is experiencing colder weather I thought it might be nice to round up my list of my current favorite sweaters from J Crew and Nordstrom.
I’m thinking of ordering the Free People Turtleneck and the Tibbi Sweater in a few colors from J Crew, has anyone ever bought that particular sweater from J Crew and is it warm? I’d love to hear your thoughts on how you stay warm + cute in the fall and winter seasons, for me personally it involves an ever-changing assortment of pea coats and trench coats – I throw one on and always feel stylish and put together.
What are some of your cozy fall must-haves?

Hi, for this week’s “Weekend Wants” I have partnered with Tobi, an online-only e-commerce platform that sells dresses, shoes and women’s accessories. When I was approached by Tobi, I only knew a little bit about the company but after browsing their website I was impressed with the huge selection of clothing that they offered, specifically the number of dresses that were a reasonable price AND a cute style.
Tobi sent me three dresses to try and all of them were cute, fun and a great price.
Below you will find five of my current favorite dresses offered on Tobi’s website.
If any of you have shopped at Tobi before, let me know in the comments. I would love to know your thoughts about the company and if you had a good experience or not. One comment I will add is that Tobi’s dresses tend to run a little short, so it might be best to save them for a date night, party, or night out and leave them out of your office and work wardrobe.
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend so far, xx
A huge thank you to the wonderful team at Tobi and Tobi for sponsoring this post
Hi there, I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. I have spent the weekend relaxing and catching up on some work, both professionally and personally.
I thought that for this week’s Weekend Wants it would be nice to have a round-up of six handbags that have just recently become available to purchase at Nordstrom, Net-A-Porter and Neiman Marcus. One of my favorite things to do each season is pick up one handbag that is my “go-to” all season long, and normally, I end up using the handbag year after year if it is a classic… for example: a classic Longchamp or a Louis Vuiton Neverfull.
For this season, I am thinking of purchasing a Chloé Marcie Bag. I love the shape of the bag and I love how timeless the design of the bag is.
What are your favorite fall handbags? What are your favorite classic handbags? Is there a purse that you find yourself using year after year?
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend, whether that is shopping, traveling, sleeping or just relaxing.
Hello! I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. I live in North Carolina and it is currently the dog days of summer here, it is absolutely so hot and although I love the long summer nights that seem to stretch on forever, I couldn’t help but begin to browse some early fall inspiration this weekend.
If you know me personally you know that one of my favorite things is wearing neutral colors in the fall, especially cozy dresses and sweaters. I think there is something about tan or gold or black that is universally flattering on everyone, regardless of body type, hair, or skin color.
For this week’s Weekend Wants, I’ve picked a few dreamy items from Net-A-Porter for some early fall inspiration. I hope you enjoy browsing and shopping as much as I did…

These are my favorite white dresses from Nordstrom, I especially like the long Free People Maxi Dress, it is whimsical and feminine and absolutely beautiful. I’m thinking of purchasing it for a date night or summer concert later in July or August.
I LOVE White, especially in the summer, it’s clean and fresh and elegant and I think the color is flattering on nearly every body type and skin tone.

I normally follow NYFW and Milan Fashion Week, Paris and the various other locales as best as I can and a few shows normally stand out particularly well. I am always so inspired by the creative charm and energy that designers put into their collections. I’ve always loved Dolce and Gabana and have a few key pieces in my wardrobe.
This year, Dolce and Gabana decided to do a “Fairy Tale Princess” Theme for their show in Milan, Italy on February 28th.
If you’re feeling particularly dreamy or have a hankering for $5,000 dress you can preorder the collection on Moda Operandi, but I thought that the images were too beautiful not to be talked about or viewed… and they’ll of course be inspiration for your fall wardrobe at the very least!

As many of you know, NYFW was 2.10.16 – 2.18.16 and fall lines for all the various designers premiered. I’ve glanced at some of the trends and styles that look promising for the fall but I must admit I have spent most of my time dreaming of what I am going to wear in the near future… spring feels SO CLOSE!
Here are my picks for the top five trends for this spring, there are SO MANY new styles and trends that I haven’t seen in years but the overarching theme seems to be an idea of femininity, florals, bright happy colors and hints of sensuality.
I am curious to see what everyone else thinks or has been reading (whether that’s from Social Media or Harper’s Bazaar or Vogue or just advice from your local boutique) about trends for this Spring?
What trends are you most excited about?
What trends or styles have made you cringe or seem awkward to you?
Excited to hear everyone’s thoughts!
One – Ruffles + Florals for a Victorian-Inspired Whimsy Look
Two – Stripes
Three – “Midi” Skirts
Four – Off-the-shoulder, sensual looks
Five – Bright Beautiful Pops of Color
While I have loved the crisp winter weather here in North Carolina recently, I have also been busy dreaming of spring and dreaming of a spring break getaway with my sweet boyfriend. We are thinking of going to Mexico or St. Lucia for a week in March!
Do any of you have recommendations for a warm getaway? Below you will find some of my favorite inspiration for spring and what to wear if you’re traveling somewhere warmer…

Happy Monday Lovelies!
Today’s post is going to be short and sweet. I’ve curated a list of beautiful pieces of jewelry that you might be interested in eventually purchasing or wearing, I like to call them investment pieces. Some of the pieces I have chosen on this list I own and I have had them for years, the initial price point was steep but well worth it for the years of use afterward and the versatility the piece provided, such as matching with nearly everything in my wardrobe, never rusting or fading like other cheap jewelry I’ve bought and the happiness of having something unique and timeless I can wear for every date night and girls night for many months and years after!
My favorite pieces from above are 1) any of the cable bracelets from David Yurman are incredible and I love my Sheila Fajl Hoops, they’re handmade in Brazil 🙂 Well worth the $70 price tag for the good quality and thickness of the hoops, one of my go to pieces of jewelry in the past few months.
There are a few things that I think one should look for in deciding if a piece is worth a steep investment and is something I want to keep for years to come…
First, do you normally wear gold or silver? If you hate gold, don’t waste money on something you won’t like wearing later just because it is popular!
Second, I look for a blend of fashionable + classic. For example, I love David Yurman’s bracelets he designs with cable. David Yurman was a sculptor and artist before he was a je
welry designer so there is a certain beauty and style he brings to each of his pieces yet at the same time they are so classic and polished. I’ve been wearing Yurman since I was in middle school and the pieces are just as stylish now as they were when I was much younger!
Third, are the materials that the jewelry is made out of high quality? Is it real gold and not plated? Are the gemstones real?
Finally, get your jewelry in the CORRECT size, I don’t care what type of jewelry store your boyfriend, father, mother, grandmother, whoever recommends you shop at, you should purchase something in the correct size instead of having it sized to fit you. A jewelry store may claim that they can resize something to fit you but you risk warping the piece of jewelry, this is extremely rare but it’s super easy to just have your ring size measured or purchase a necklace length that is appropriate for your height and body type.
Often jewelry stores want to make a quick sell and if perhaps you are a Size 7 in a ring but they have a Size 5 or 6 in stock they will encourage you to go ahead and purchase it and have the store size it up or down for you, don’t do this! Just order the correct size from the jewelry manufacturer!
Is there a piece of jewelry you wear every day? Is there a style of jewelry you can’t live without?
In lieu of the winter storm that is enveloping most of Central, North Carolina this weekend, I will be getting offline and enjoying a good book in addition to also enjoying some quality time with my sweet puppy and my boyfriend.
Before I do, I put together a compilation of cozy winter sweaters you might be interested in browsing as some of them are on sale and they are ALL under $100, as retailers and fashion houses are gearing up to display and sell their Spring Lines, now is the time to stock up on winter coats, sweaters and accessories for next season. I’ll post more later about my recommendations for great sale finds.
If you’re in North Carolina or the East Coast, Stay Safe Lovely Friends.
As much as people hate the holiday if they are single, Valentine’s Day has always been one of my favorite holidays, even before meeting and dating my sweet boyfriend, Jordan.
I love that it is something to look forward to in the middle of winter. I love that it is an excuse to buy flowers. I love that it is an excuse to bake and buy fun, beautiful dresses for a sweet dinner out, whether it’s with your friends or your significant other!
I know that we are still over a month away from the holiday, but as I was browsing Nordstrom’s website and a few other online shopping retailers I couldn’t help but get a little excited at the wide array of pink accessories and clothing available, and much of it on sale!
On that note, I’ve put together a list of my Weekend Wants, and this upcoming weekend, (posted early as I’m going to be traveling this weekend), the list is items that are mostly on sale and under $50!
